Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough

Councillor Julie Flaherty is Lord Mayor of Armagh City Banbridge & Craigavon Borough Council. Councillor Flaherty entered local politics in 2013 following years of campaigning for health issues associated with the care of her late son, Jake. She was co-opted onto Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon Borough Council in May 2016 to represent the Portadown DEA for the Ulster Unionist Party following the election of her colleague, Doug Beattie MC, to the Northern Ireland Assembly in May 2016. In June 2018, she took up the position as the first lady Lord Mayor of Armagh City, Banbridge and Craigavon. She has a keen interest in health and well-being of the children and young people of the Borough.
